Statewide Races Rundown
As May 6 gets ever closer the all important primaries for president, governor, and US Senate are shaping up to be an exciting event for North Carolina. For the Democrats it's all about settling the fight between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the nomination. Also at stake is to see who will be the heir apparent to Mike Easley and to see who will challenge Elizabeth Dole in the fall.
For Republicans it's a quest to end 16 years of Democratic control in Raleigh as John McCain and Elizabeth Dole are assured of their party's nod heading into November.
